First-Year Orientation

All incoming UGA students must attend first-year orientation prior to meeting with an advisor and registering for classes. The Honors Program shares information about first-year orientation with new fall admits in mid to late May each year.

Incoming students for fall 2020 will attend a virtual orientation session during the summer of 2020. Contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions for questions about orientation or visit the New Student Orientation website.

The virtual orientation experience includes a series of self-paced online modules intended to help new students orient themselves to the resources and programs available at the University of Georgia. Students will also attend a small group session online with other new admits. In addition to these two programming pieces, all admitted Honors students are required to review the Honors Orientation Tutorial pre-orientation module in eLC (eLearning Commons).

After completing each of the above steps, students will be advised and cleared to register for classes in Athena.

Honors staff will be available remotely to assist students with registration online. Sign up through the Honors Registration Help Schedule on eLC.

For most majors in the Franklin College, as well as all Honors students with intended Terry, intended Grady, or pre-pharmacy majors, an Honors Advisor will clear you for registration. For majors in other colleges, an advisor from your college will clear you for registration.
