Internship information for faculty

Honors students may be able to receive up to six hours of credit from the Morehead Honors College for eligible internship opportunities.

As part of the application, the student will have to choose a faculty member to advise them on the creation of an academic syllabus and to evaluate the academic work completed for the internship credit.

If you agree to advise an Honors internship, you will be listed as the instructor for a section of HONS 4800H or 4801H or a departmental equivalent, and the student will appear on your grade rolls.

Only full-time faculty can serve as the faculty mentor for an Honors internship course. Graduate students, including PhD students, cannot serve as faculty mentors. Faculty mentors must be credentialed in some way that directly relates to the field of the internship—or the assignments must be tailored to the faculty mentor’s area of expertise.

For more information, consult the Honors Internship Course Application or contact Meg Amstutz, dean of the Morehead Honors College, at 706-542-0532 or [email protected].
