Honors students have the opportunity to learn from UGA faculty across campus in informal settings through our Lunchbox Lectures and Book Discussions series.
Each semester, the Morehead Honors College hosts lunchtime lectures featuring faculty who provide a lecture and/or lead a discussion with a small group of Honors students. This lecture series allows our students to make connections with faculty from across campus and learn about their research. Students sign up voluntarily based upon interest in the topic.
The series takes place in Moore Hall on Wednesdays and Thursdays during the 12:20-1:10 p.m./12:30-1:20 p.m. class periods throughout the year.
Lunch is provided through support from the Morehead Honors College Fund of Excellence.
The Morehead Honors College hosts faculty-led book discussions on weekday evenings throughout the year. Discussions are held over dinner in Moore Hall or in the faculty member’s home. The book is chosen by the faculty member, and books are provided to the 10 students who register for the discussion at the beginning of each semester.
The cost of dinner and books is covered through the support of the Morehead Honors College Fund of Excellence.
Lunchbox Lectures and Book Discussions are announced at the beginning of each semester on the Honors listserv.
