Kathryn and Darren Ash established the Ash Service Award to cultivate and support a culture of locally focused community service within the Morehead Honors College. Awards support Honors students who intern full-time in the summer on behalf of a local or state service organization, supporting programming that improves communities.
To be eligible, you must be an Honors student in good academic standing who, as of the summer, will be a rising second-, third-, or fourth-year student.
The recipients of the Ash Service Award receive a $3,500 stipend to cover their cost of living while interning for a local service organization for approximately 8 weeks full-time in the summer. Upon completing the required service hours, recipients must provide documentation of the hours served and a report detailing the internship.
Competitive applicants will have demonstrated a commitment to community service through prior sustained involvement. Applicants must provide documentation of organizational support and an already-established relationship to be considered for the award.
Applications for the summer 2026 Ash Service Award are due on Monday, April 20 by 12pm (noon). Please direct questions to Maria de Rocher, assistant dean and director of student programming & engagement, at 706-542-6908, [email protected].
