Honors Course Sections
The Morehead Honors College offers smaller course sections for Honors students only in a variety of disciplines each semester, including a limited number of summer courses.
UGA’s official Schedule of Classes is published each term on the Registrar’s website. A list of Honors courses is listed below the Schedule of Classes and Schedule of Online Classes. Find the semester you are registering for, and click the appropriate link.
In addition to Honors courses, there are some other opportunities to earn Honors credit listed below.
Honors Options
Honors Option courses are non-Honors undergraduate courses numbered 3000 or higher in which an Honors student earns Honors credit by completing an additional paper or project.
Graduate Courses
All Honors students are eligible to enroll in graduate-level courses (graduate courses are those numbered 6000 or higher). Honors credit is earned automatically for courses enrolled and completed at the graduate level.
Internship Course Credit
Honors students in good standing can earn academic credit (HONS 4800H, HONS 4801H, or a departmental equivalent) for participation in an internship under the supervision of a faculty advisor. Because a student is earning credit hours, they must complete academic work in addition to duties as an intern.
Honors Seminars
Honors 1990H colloquia seminars are focused on topics of special interest to a faculty member’s research and teaching and are graded on a pass/fail grading system.
CURO Research and Thesis Courses
All students may earn credit through the Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities for participation in faculty-led research courses or faculty-supervised thesis courses. All undergraduate research and thesis courses with the R-suffix earn Honors credit automatically.
