Your first year as an Honors student sets the stage for the rest of your time at the University of Georgia. Whether you’re attending orientation, Convocation, or your required HONS 1000H course, we want you to get the most out of your Honors experiences.
New Student Orientation
UGA Orientation for most incoming first-year students occurs over a two-day program in June, July, or August. Honors students may attend any available orientation session. Once matriculated, Honors students benefit from early registration for all future terms while enrolled in the Morehead Honors College.
Honors Introductory Course
The HONS 1000H course serves as an introduction to the Morehead Honors College and is required for all first-year Honors students during their first semester of acceptance to the Honors College.
Honors Convocation
Honors Convocation is our official welcome ceremony for all new Honors students. Held during the first few weeks of fall and spring semesters and announced to all of our incoming students, Convocation gives you the opportunity to learn more about the Morehead Honors College and hear about the wide array of opportunities available to you.
