The deadline for application falls in early November each year. The application opens on the Admissions site in late August.

Applicants are notified as to whether or not they are finalists for a Fellowship by late January. Finalists are invited to our Interview Weekend (which occurs in late February).

Read the full list of benefits of the Foundation Fellowship.

Finalists who are selected to receive the Fellowship are notified immediately after the Interview Weekend. Finalists who attend Interview Weekend but are not ultimately awarded a Fellowship are automatically offered a Bernard Ramsey Honors Scholarship.

We’re requesting that all questions before and during the application process for the Foundation Fellowship application come directly from the students themselves. It gives us a chance to get to know the students, and it also convinces us that the work we’re receiving is the student’s own.

Students, if you have questions as you are applying, please use the following contact information:

  • For questions about the application and/or any technical issues, please email the FF/Ramsey Application Management Team at
  • For questions about the Foundation Fellowship and Ramsey Honors Scholarship programs, please email Jessica Hunt, Major Scholarships Coordinator within the UGA Honors Program at

Students with questions about calculating their unweighted GPA should read this UGA Admissions blog entry.

mid-term Foundation Fellows

Each year we award a small number of Mid-Term Foundation Fellowships. These are two-year academic scholarships for the two final years of undergraduate study. They include a stipend, travel-study grants, research and conference grants, and a variety of academic enrichment opportunities.

Third-semester Honors students with a minimum 3.85 cumulative (UGA) GPA and two years of undergraduate study remaining after the following spring semester are eligible to apply. The GPA requirement is not negotiable.

Each year's competition is announced via the Honors Program listserv in the fall, and the new application is then available online. The application deadline falls in early January.

Second-year Honors students may request access to the Mid-Term Foundation Fellowship Application after August 1 by emailing
