The deadline for application falls in early November each year. The application opens on the Admissions site in late August.

Applicants are notified as to whether or not they are finalists for a Fellowship by late January. Finalists are invited to our Interview Weekend (which occurs in late February).

Finalists who are selected to receive the Fellowship are notified immediately after the Interview Weekend. All finalists who attend Interview Weekend, including those who are not ultimately awarded a Fellowship, are awarded a $3,000 Bernard Ramsey Travel Grant to be used for international or domestic travel-study if they choose to matriculate at UGA.

We’re requesting that all questions before and during the application process for the Foundation Fellowship application come directly from the students themselves. It gives us a chance to get to know the students, and it also convinces us that the work we’re receiving is the student’s own.

From 2000-2020, Ramsey Scholars were selected through the Foundation Fellows application process. In 2021, the Ramsey Honors Scholarship was merged with the Foundation Fellowship.

Ramsey Scholars and Foundation Fellows share the same community programming and participate in the same off-campus retreats; scholarships advising and professional development; alumni networking; and academic, social, and cultural events throughout the year.

mid-term Foundation Fellows

Each year we award a small number of Mid-Term Foundation Fellowships. These are two-year academic scholarships for the two final years of undergraduate study. They include a stipend, travel-study grants, research and conference grants, and a variety of academic enrichment opportunities.

Third-semester Honors students with a minimum 3.85 cumulative (UGA) GPA and two years of undergraduate study remaining after the following spring semester are eligible to apply. The GPA requirement is not negotiable.

Each year's competition is announced via the Morehead Honors College listserv in the fall, and the new application is then available online. The application deadline falls in early January.
