For these scholarships, candidates must meet a campus deadline (which usually falls 1-2 months before the external deadline), be evaluated, and, in some cases, be officially nominated by their home institutions.
For the major graduate scholarships that compete in the fall, applicants should begin working with the director of scholarships the spring before they seek nomination.
