Honors Program Ambassadors will represent the University of Georgia and the Honors Program at both recruitment and development events to further the success of the program and to the benefit of the students in the Honors community.

Honors Program Ambassadors will have the opportunity to interact with hundreds of people, positively impact the lives of incoming Honors students, increase their leadership skills, and become more involved in the Honors community. This position allows students to speak about their experiences, share advice, and mentor new students. The role is vital to the success of the Honors Program and crucial to the sustainability of the program.

An applicant for the 2021-2022 Ambassador Team must:

  • Be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student at the University of Georgia currently and through May 2022
  • Be in good academic and judicial standing
  • Have (at the time of application) and maintain your “active” status as an Honors Program student

More importantly, an applicant should be someone with strong communications skills, genuine enthusiasm for the University of Georgia and the Honors Program, and the ability to work well on a team.

Responsibilities

An Honors Program Ambassador will be expected to do the following:

  • Represent the University of Georgia Honors Program with professionalism, poise, and respect at recruitment, development, and university-wide events.
  • Serve as a resource to students and families during Honors Program events by answering questions, sharing information and personal anecdotes, and connecting them to campus resources.
  • Attend regularly scheduled meetings designed to enhance participation in the Ambassador program, prepare for upcoming events, and develop as a leader.
  • Ambassadors may develop activities or projects to promote the well-being of Honors Program students and increase the visibility and understanding about Honors at UGA.
  • Serve on panels, give presentations, and mingle with prospective students, their families, campus administrators, and donors.
