Jessica Hunt currently serves as the assistant dean and director of scholarships in the Morehead Honors College, working with students seeking external scholarships such as the Rhodes, Marshall, Schwarzman, Knight-Hennessy, Luce, Beinecke, Udall, Truman, and Goldwater awards. In the past 18 years, she has mentored (among others) 41 Goldwater Scholars, 8 Rhodes Scholars, 12 Schwarzman Scholars, 10 Truman Scholars, and 21 Udall Scholars.
Jessica is an alumni Foundation Fellow, and for 17 years, she directed the Foundation Fellows and Ramsey Scholars programs. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 1984 with a BA in English and in 2008 with an MEd in Instructional Technology. Before joining the Honors College staff in 2007, she served as a Peace Corps Volunteer on a reforestation project in Guatemala; taught communicative arts at the Georgia Governors Honors Program; and worked for almost two decades to integrate technology into secondary English classrooms in Atlanta, GA; Silver Spring, MD; Aberdeen, Scotland; and, finally, back in Athens.
