Alison Gates has served as an administrative associate at the Honors College since April 2026. She was born in England and grew up in Wales in the United Kingdom. She graduated from the University of Reading in England with a BA in English literature and a minor in American studies. She went on to teach English in Spain after earning her Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from International House in London. Prior to working at the Honors College she worked at a local elementary school engaging with students and providing administrative support.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, growing flowers, and taking care of her many animals, including two donkeys, five sheep, six chickens, three dogs and a cat.
