Offer 6000+ Access

Only third- and fourth-year Honors students in good standing are eligible to register for graduate-level courses. Students must have a cumulative 3.50 GPA and sufficient background in the subject of the graduate course (at the discretion of the instructor). For courses numbered 8000 or higher, prior completion of at least one 6000- or 7000-level course with an A or B is also required by the Graduate School.

Students must complete and submit a Graduate Course Application form, which is available from the Honors office. (Faculty may request a copy of the form. Contact Martin Rogers, associate director of Honors and CURO at 706-542-0531 or martyr@uga.edu.)

Applicants must complete the above requirements prior to their assigned registration date. For 8000+ courses, approval by the dean of the Graduate School is required.

The completed form should be returned to the Honors Program front desk. The department offering the course is responsible for adding the student's name to the course access list. Note that approval of the dean of the Graduate School is required for Late Add of any level graduate course after the undergraduate drop/add period.

SPLIT-LEVEL COURSES: A student who is registered for the 4000-level section of a split-level course cannot receive graduate credit for the course even if the student completes the graduate-level syllabus. The student must be registered for the 6000-level course to receive graduate credit.
