Designed to link exceptional Honors students with a "friend on the faculty," the Honors Faculty Mentor Network provides students the opportunity to interact with experienced faculty from across the disciplines outside of the traditional classroom structure. With a cadre of dedicated mentors, the HFMN offers the personalized mentoring available at a small liberal arts college set within a major research university.

helpful hints

Once you are logged in, you should see a button labeled "Edit Faculty Mentor Profile." Click on this button to pull up your blank profile template. Certain fields in the profile must be filled in before the system will allow you to submit your entry.

Here are some helpful suggestions before you begin:

1. A CV is required. Please make sure that you have this on hand to begin your account creation.

2. An explanation of your mentoring philosophy is optional; however, many students may want to know how and why you mentor. A sample mentoring philosophy is provided for your reference.

3. In addition to sections focusing solely on your academic and research accomplishments, there is also an optional section to include additional information about your special interests, such as hobbies, organizations you work with or support, and community activities. This provides another avenue in which to connect with students in addition to academic pursuits.

4. Your entries will not be submitted until you press "Save" at the bottom of your profile page.
