Join us for an Honors Lunchbox Lecture on Wednesday, April 19 with Dr. Stephen Mihm, Professor and Department Head of History. He will be presenting “Why Didn’t the United States Go Metric?”
In the twenty-first century, the United States remains the only major economy in the world not to have embraced the metric system of measurement. This talk introduces the colorful characters — and unexpected reasons — for this curious outcome, which continues to confuse and confound nations around the world.
