Third- and fourth-year Honors students in good standing are eligible to enroll in graduate-level coursework (6000+) with permission of the instructor. Students must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA and sufficient background in the subject of the graduate course. Students may not register for a course numbered 8000 or higher if they have not completed at least one 6000- or 7000-level course with an A or B (the Dean of the Graduate School must approve the application to take an 8000 or higher level course).

Submit a Graduate Course Application form before the end of drop/add. Each graduate course requires a separate application. This form is available at the Honors Program Front Desk. The completed form should be returned to the Honors Program. The department will add the student's name to the access list so that the course will be available for registration.

A graduate course may count towards the Graduate Course Capstone or as upper-level Honors coursework, but not as both. Consult our graduation requirements information for further details.
